I keep a pair of gloves in the car in case my hands are dirty for some reason, but I like my Sparco. I have never had a Nardi nor used or seen one in person so I can't chime in on that. But if you are a grease bum and typically have crap on your hands then stay away from suede.
I can only ring in on what I know...
It has nothing to do with being a greasy bum.
We all have oil in our skin. It will excrete from our palms/fingers and go into the suede which will cause it to matte.
So unless it's being used by ashy larry, the gloves should always be used.
And also a wire brush helps bring it back to life.
