....a Bullitt Mustang that is. I was suppose to leave for S. America again tonight but changed the plane to tomorrow night. Anyway...on the way home from running errands I came across a Bullitt Mustang with a guy driving with his girl. Well I dropped it into second at 75mph and pulled along side of him....right when we got dead even he suddenly looked over and dropped it. By the time I hit 100mph he was lookiing at my rear bumper and by 120mph I had pulled a solid car length and so I let off just a bit for him to catch up where my front bumper was with his rear tire and then off to the races again (he never let off) we went from about 125 to 140mph with me pulling on him again by another half car length to bring our fronts even again and then he let off at 140mph.

I must say this "today was a good Q day indeed". I have no idea what the hell a Bullitt Mustang has different from a regular stang...but it ain't much all though it looked impressive being it was lowered.

Looks like this car is a mid 14 second car stock. Congrats on a race well won Rob. Nice win!

yeah....I just finally found a website listing the differences between all the stangs. Ford made only like 5,000 of them for an extra $3,500 of regular stang prices which included some cosmetics, handling package with lowered springs, and then a more free flowing exhaust and intake/heads for something like 270Hp and they confirmed it was a mid 14 sec car as well as the site I looked at had it at 14.6 which is right with yours truely...ME :-) but that Bullitt did 0-60 in 5.8 secs. I can't imagine much additional HP for $3,500 when they included cosmetics and handling package.

Well done, Rob!

Hey, do you have any videos of your Q running the 1/4 and 1/8?

PS: I am glad our site hasnt been overrun by whiny busybody's that would start lecturing about the "danger", and "breaking the law" etc..

Even the big 350Z sites are like that now.

don't have any new videos.....I will try to get some done in Nov at the 1/4 track with my friend. The only trouble is that they run the lanes for the novices at night, but I have a night vision function on my vid cam so it should work.

To some extent I agree with those people. There are two kinds of street racing though... the unsafe kind and the safe kind. Rob's the kind of guy who'll race someone in an open stretch of freeway, risking nothing but his own safety. He's not the type who'll race down a crowded street, weaving in and out of traffic, risking other people's lives.

I think the racing on an open stretch of road bit is perfectly fine... it's videos like that S4 and Mini going at it on a crowded freeway that irks me. It's just asking to kill someone.

yeah....while street racing is never safe I only do it during wide open roads with no traffic to minimize the risk even though it still exists. Just so happen to have the most perfect 3 lane each way causeway totally flat for about 4-5 miles across the bay on the way to and from work every day and there is almost someone once per week just looking for a race. The nice thing about it is that it is separated by a huge solid gaurd railed palm treed lined center median so we only have to worry about cops on our side of the rail as you can't crossover until the ends of the causeway.

Unfortunately, If I had a better handling/braking car....well then that might be a different story for me on racing as I have fun with the ricers and their funky high pitched exhuast wanting to race me in traffic disregarding the dangers and the fact that my car is twice their size so I just let them go bye bye. The best fun with the ricers is me pulling along side of them while cruising, through it into nuetral, give 2 revs to let them kindly know I am here with just a little more muscle, and then watch them flip and want to race me going nuts. I never knew how pissed they would get with me doing this as I was doing it for fun one night and this ricer flipped out screaming his exhuast was sounded better. Well when we came to the next light....he heard the raspy sound from the headers and was like.....okay you got me kind of look.

For now me and the Q is strictly a straight line wide open no traffic runner.....need better brakes and some nice low profile 18's.

Rob, I saw a kit on ebay a long time ago for some massive Brembos. The kit was actually designed for a Viper... something like 14 and 15" rotors... absolutely sick. I believe they closed around $3k. You'd definitely need 19s to run anything that big though. Nonetheless... that'd make for some disturbing stopping power!
