i just got my tein tierods/ends in the mail today, they come with optional spacers "to increase wheel cutoff angle" but it also says you may have rubbing (tire on fender) with these installed. im not thinking this is going to be a problem, i have a set of 17s with 40 or 42 offset, and a set of stock teardrops also. since these wheels dont have crazy offsets, should i have a problem with rubbing if i use the spacer?? who has these tierods and used the spacer?? any imput on this would be cool. thanks

it also depends on how wide of a tire you're running, and the profile of it. Your best bet, like USsil80 said, is just to try it (especially if you can do the work yourself). And tell me if you can, 'cause I've got URAS tie rods waiting to be installed. :D

No, they don't have spacers. They actually bend more, so you have to grind the stoppers in order to get more steering angle. Not sure as to how they're built differently, though. I've actually never seen the tein ones, so I really can't tell you the exact differences. I was just wondering how much I should grind off. The guy at the shop I bought 'em from told me that a little over 1cm would be good, but also told me that it wouldn't be a problem if I just grind the whole thing off.

The only time you're going to turn the steering wheel all the way would be when you're in a parking lot, or in full counter steer during a drift (right before you spin out). Do you really want to max out your steering during a drift? Didn't think so.

That being said, I don't really see why having too much steering angle is going to hurt you. However, I understand where you're coming from 'cause I don't really want to have a rubbing wheel either.

Take this rambling however you like, but It won't be a serious problem like a tire rubbing the fender when you lower your car too much w/ wide tires. I doubt that you'll have any serious problems w/ the spacers in. (at least your's are reversable. . . if a grind too much off, its going to be permanent. lol)

i just got them in yesterday with the spacers. the spacers do make quite a bit of difference, the wheels turn waaayyyy out now, i put the tire on while on the jackstands and doesnt look like it will rub. these tierods are MUCH BEEFIER than the stock ones. im very happy with my purchase so far. i would recommend
