Spacer Question for TEIN & 16's

I have 16x7 wheels with +40mm offset and tire size 225/50-16. I am planning on either the TEIN Flex or HE's. I've read that will cause clearance issues. What size spacers in the front or front and rear do I need check into?

I have F16x7 and R16x8 both with +40mm offset.

Initially had 225/50/16 tyres on the front but they rub against the HE coilover severely.

It looked like you needed 15mm spacer but I went out and got 205/55/16 tyres which gave me about 5mm clearance. I didn't need spacers for the rear.

I wish I could be more accurate with those clearance figures, they are just my estimates. Probably best to measure them out with washers before buying appropriate spacers.
