I have searched for hours and found people use oil restrictors on ka motors and other motors but I have yet to find anything about what size oil restrictor to use on an sr20 with a t3 that is journal bearing. I have a friend that used no oil restrictor on his t3 turbo sr20 and uses no restrictor on his 60-1 rb25 with no problems. The turbo is a 360degree journal bearing turbo. Im running a 4an line. I need some help asap.

Im running a 50 a/r intake housing 63 a/r exhaust housing I hear its alot like the gt30. Im runnning a restrictor right now and it was for a t3 turbo it doesnt say what size it is. im having trouble routing my top mount downpipe to the turbo so I havn't driven it yet.Ill be fixing that tomorrow and then I need to get a rom tune.

that restrictor should work fine.

with a .50 cover youve either got a 5000 or a 5000S... The 5000S is very much like a 3076 and the 5000 is like a 3071

im guessing you have a ebay manifold if youre running into downpipe issues (clearinghte brake master/lines?)

It all would have lined up perfect if the down pipe was for a 4 bolt flange. I got everything setup and made the restrictor a little bigger. car is puller almost as hard and my gt28rs on 18lbs of boost and im only running 9lbs on the new turbo until i get my tune.

The holset was on my other engine... It made good power and had good response - but I pulled the motor and my buddy needed a new turbo so i pulled it off and tried a VGT HE351

Then I had a oil return line get pinched when a motor mount broke - and it blew the seals.

A Drift car I sponsor is also sponsored by SPAturbo and S-Max and he introduced us - The 6000 was the turbo on that car - so I figured I'd try one out -

Its a bit laggy - but not too bad.

The Holset made just over 400 with the same boost and everything (same cams and intake manifold also)

22psi on 93oct - SPA6000 420hp-364tq on the street full boost is at like 4600Couldn't turn the boost up - clutch gave out on the dyno - its set up to run 28-30 on c16 with the .63 housing - it had a .48 on it for this dyno and it chokes it BAD - i do NOT recommend a .48

Journal bearings has small holes around them and relys on higher oil pressure to get oil in between the bearings and the turbine shaft. Running too small of a restrictor on journal bearing turbos will result in metal to metal contact between the bearings and the turbine shaft.

I love my spa turbo it was a good price and im running 9lbs it feels like my gt2860rs at 17lbs It spools up a tad bit slower but nothing to complain about. it actually honestly feels like a smoother tq curve. I would recoment spa turbo to anyone. that 6000 series would be great on a rb25. Im waiting for some money to get a tune then ill hit the dyno and turn up the boost. prolly going to run 20lbs for hi boost and 10 for low.

Pretty close to what I made with the HX35 on a log mani with a 2.5" DP. I did have a jwt rom tune that was very conservative on timing, a log mani, and 2.5" dp. When I sold the car it had a custom tubular installed, 3" DP, and a GT30R .63ar. Made 460ish whp at 26-27psi on 110 with a retune at Zfever in tampa.
