I finally have my car tuned to the point where I feel comfortable taking it out on a track. My mechanic has mentioned to me that the Alfa club runs on some of the local tracks, and that they are usually more than happy to welcome in new people, whether or not they drive Alfa's. So, I'll definitely be checking that out.

I'm curious as to how the rest of you guys get track time. Do you run with clubs? What's the best way to get onto the track? Even if it's just timed lapping with no passing, I'd be all over it. Anything where I don't have to sweat the fact that my car does more than most speed limits, in 2nd gear. =)

Thanks in advance for any insights and advise. BTW - I mean road courses, not drag strip track time.

There are two coming up. I will be at both. Plus I have a friend who gets insider info about upcoming SCCA/SOLO stuff so I can register early.

Dude... is right. I hope that the finances work out for me. I wasn't planning on doing it so soon, but that open track racing is a good deal. If I don't make it to the October one, I will definitely do December.
