I stayed for all three of the hurricanes. I've seen thunder-storms that were worse than that. The media likes to over exagerate the details. We have never gotten even a 90mph wind in the Tampa Bay area. If we ever got 90mph winds, there literally would be nothing left.

Have any of you guys in FL been watching the news? It's hilarious. They stand in front of a beach. And they say that the waves are massive. It's very obvious that they are only 4-6ft high. That's nothing.

Another stupid thing. They showed a guy surfing on cocoa beach, they said he was insane. Then, they show the police trying to arrest him. What the hell is up with that?

Anyway. Anybody wanna come to a party at my house during Ivan? Ever time a hurricane comes, we get alot alcohol, ice, food, and women, and throw a party.

you sound like my type of hurricane party friend....I always try to throw a hurricane party at my condo and invite those who stick it out unless it is a cat 3 or higher as $hit just breaks everywhere when a cat 3 or higher hits. Cat 3 is like a critical mass breaking point where nothing is left untouch. I was hoping for Ivan to hit Miami and then I would have one hell of a party since I missed my friends party last weekend because I was in Acapulco.

btw...poormanq45 is on the money about the news making things into more than they are....they find the worse spot and then take 10 shots all from different angle saying damage is all over when it is actually the same spot.....the news loves to put just a little Spin on the stories always...

I did the Hugo, Andrew, and now Charley & Frances World Tours.

After Andrew I always said I wouldn't stay on purpose again if one was that large.

It's kind of exciting if you don't have to deal with them frequently. But as it stands, although I've not sustained any property damage, by the time I (hopefully) go back to work on Monday, I will have spent 10 days at home without power with two 3 year olds & a 7 year old.

I agree with you guys about the news channels, and wherethehell does anyone think they're going to drive to by running away? Stuck in traffic for 6-7 hours from Orlando to Jacksonville would be Hell on earth.
