perhaps you can source some from junkyard sports cars?

ie: porsche, RX-7, Supra, MR2, 280z...

I don't know exact costs, but Tenzo R makes some pretty cheap seats. maybe not cheap enough for what your asking tho. Ebay is always a good source for cheap used stuff. also search the ads at places like http://www.thepartstrader.com. mostly honda stuff on these places, but for seats, you can just get the bracket you need the seats are usually pretty universal.

well you only said no APC. I'd say they are a slight step above APC. But if you want the good seats, your gonna have to spend some money. BTW, I just thought of this, I don't know what exaclty you want the seats for, look or function, but the s13 seats look pretty close to the reclineable racing seats sold out there, maybe you could just pay to recover one. just an idea.

i've spent a bit of time in a corbeau. nice seats. i really do think they're up to par with MOST OF the momo/sparco types. they're just straight up cheaper.

although the best i've sat in hands down is the Sparco Milano. i could live in that seat.

I've always thought milk crates and a roll of duct tape would make for some great seats.

i mean lawn chairs are nice for passengers but for the driver, only the pure comfort of midwestern milk crates will do.

i just ripped out my factory seats and put the seat off my old mountain bike in there. lots more comfortable. lateral support is a bit weak... i think that's where the duct tape will come in. and i'm just gonna weld some of those metal handicapped-toilet-stall grab bars onto the door. problem solved.
