1994 infiniti J30tim new to this motor hell new to the import i have replaced the spark plugs but yet it still sounds like and feels like it struggles under load and under low rpms. but at higher rpms smooths out. now i think it might coils but am i wrong that if one is out it will tell you.

P.S is it just me or does the air intake design just seem like it would just starve the motor

this car has 125,800 miles on it it had its 60,000 tune up done to it not the 120,000 comeing soon and pretty sertain that all parts are original oem i know the past history on it and there is no abuse to the car it used to be my aunts

Its very (very) rare for a coil pack to go bad, though it isnt impossible. It might be the last thing I would suspect.

Without knowing a tremendous amount about your drivetrain, I believe signs point to a fuel system (injectors!) or MAF issue. Though, if the problem only seems present at the low end, injectors seem most likely.

How did the plugs look? Any plug different from the other 5? I would suspect coil or injector as well. Find the cylinder through the plugs. If the injector ohms OK then suspct the coil. Don't think an injector can completely clog up overnight.

VG30DE has dual Throttle bodies with a single actuator rod that controls the open/close sequence. It also has a single TPS sensor.

First off, take off both throttlebodies off the plenum and clean them thoroughly. Install the throttle bodies and set TPS and base Idle using the FSM (factory service manual) specs.

Clean the egr valves.. Clean the Idle air control valve..replace PCV valve. Replace plugs.. Here is a link to the Idle valve http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnettech/iaa/iaa.html Contrary to what the article states, the Idle/AAC valve can be cleaned.. In the FSM there is a test/clean procedure. Replace the O2 sensors..both of them.. $60-70 a piece..

It is not rare for a coil pack to go bad. If you have followed nissan's history..there are notorious coilpack issues on Maxima's..cracking..arcing..windings going south.. replacing a coilpack and plugs will get 30-40% of your power back...You will know what you have been misssing. Just remove your coilpacks and visually inspect them before going down the replacement road.. Injectors are notorious for Jegs quality from the 90's.. Bosch replacements fix the issues

The Air box is indeed restrictive. The exhaust system is restrictive. The ECU programming is restrictive. Transmission is restrictive. After driving my 5speed maxima and then driving this is night/day. However, for a long drive, this car is the only way to go..Cruise all day @70 mph..

The IAC/AAC valve is notorious for low rpm bog..known problem on maxima's..Clean all the parts..she deserves it anyway..you'll notice the difference...
