Sounds like flywheel is hitting bellhousing.

Hey all i just got my 240 together i put a rebuilt Ka24de into it. i resealed it put new fluids in and dropped her on the ground. well i drove for 15 minutes. i was in 2nd gear got up to 4000 rpms let it come down on its own did that like 4 times on the last time i got to about 4 grand it sounded like the transmission quit but i drove it home and when i pushed in the clutch the sound was still there. i check the timing chain just to make sure ut wasnt hitting the valve cover or the timing covers.....it wasnt so now im thinking its either the starter not disengaging but its when u hit the throttle so i dropped that and im thinking somewhere in the general area of the flywheel. i havent had time to check anything yet i just got done moving. any suggestions?!?

The clutch still works right?

When you put in the clutch it makes a kinda tapping thud noise?
