Fuel pump brother.

Its almost gone.

I would change it before you get stuck someone far from home. But that is what it sounds like.

Just be glad you even got a sound. I didn't get anything, mine just went out! lol

You change it immediately with a new one and a new O ring from

http://www.infinitipartsusa.com

You inspect the tank and fuel lines and FPCU because you will need one of those also if you continue to abuse it with a busted FP.

Deritrus of course. And if you see deritrus in the bottom of the fuel tank then you have to suspect that the fuel lines also contain deritrus and will need to be cleaned. (Inside joke. Sorry)

Chances are your fuel tank and lines are spotless but it is important that you replace the $220 fuel pump before it destroys the $700 FPCU. As Brian suggested you should also check the FPCU for a melted connector and look at its internals for any anomalies.

Water drops and thus tiny rusty piles settle in the center metal cup where the pump strainer sock sits.

Even just a very discernible film on the bottom interior of the tank will foretell a short life for the replacement pump.
