If you had the injectors and regulator rebuilt/replaced...was there a massive fuel leak beforehand? Lots of fuel in the oil? That would wear down the cylinders in short order. Then, again, you're looking at blow-by. The tolerances are exceeded, the compression ring can't hold the combustion gases, and they blow past the piston into the crankcase. This is why 1) the oil is extremely hot (combustion charge is HOT HOT HOT) and 2) there is smoke pouring out of the oil filler cap, probably out of the dipstick tube and PCV valve as well, as it is seeking an outlet where ever it can.
I don't think your chain is the cause of this specific problem. If it broke, the engine wouldn't be running at all. Even if, let's suppose, your chain was stretched to the point of skipping time, the engine would run like junk, but there shouldn't be smoke in your oil. And from what you have described, it isn't burning oil through the exhaust. The smoke is actually IN the oil passages.
I hate to say it, but I think your rings/cylinders may be excessively worn. Try doing a compression test and see if the cylinders are within the correct range. If they aren't, well...now may be a good time for an engine swap or rebuild.
