Sounds crazy, but...

V8 240sx? Sure! If either the chassis OR the engine is non-Nissan (i.e. SR20 in an RX-7 or LS1 in a 240sx), we've done it.

Has anyone ever built a rat rod styled body/chassis utilizing an SR or other type of import motor? If so, what problems occurred such as fabricating and wiring?

Some guy used a RB26 in a 40's dodge, was pretty cool. Thats the beauty of hybrid swaps. Its all going to be custom, but since those old cars don't have emissions, or smog requirements, its easier to pull off. But problems, hmm its just gonna be alot of fabrication, but they are custom hot rods anyhow so that what you might exspect from the git go

Yeah, I know the fab work will be enormous and painstaking. I was just thinking though, how nice would it be to see a open front end hot rod with a sr sitting right there on a 2 seater frame. I think it would be definitely out of the box. There's this junkyard by my dad's house that has these old cars from the 30's and 40's rusting away. SOme of them have been there since I was in high school, 13 years or so.

If you have the time and know how go for it, just find somethng that still has a frame left on it. Can you get a title for one of those junk cars though?

Dude that would be sweet. I'm currently building a '31 Model 'a' Ford with a big 400" Pontiac motor (old school iron block). After I got into the Nissan stuff I started to think about how awesome it would be to build a track style model 't' ford with an sr in it. Maybe one day...
