Does the Vers S come with an auxilarry jack or is that only in the SL? Oh, and if it doesn't have one, how else can I play my iPod? Thanks.

Nissan offers an iPod interface system as an accessory for the Versa S. It is not cheap however if I recall.

More info here, just click on the audio portion:

You could also use an inexpensive RF modulator, but the quality won't be that great. An RF modulator plugs into the headphone jack of your Ipod (or some of them actually plug into the bottom) and transmits the sound to an FM Radio frequency. Then you just tune the radio in your car to that station and you'll hear what's being played from the Ipod.

The Nissan OEM adaptor is actually a better solution, because you control the Ipod from your factory stereo so it's safer. It will also sound better this way, but remember that compressed MP3s will never sound as good as a CD so don't expect it to be as good.

plus the modulators that plug into the cig lighter and then into the iPod dock overcharge the iPod and murder your battery. ... That's right MURDER! ... I did a PSI on it, honest XoP

No really, I'd go with the Nissan accessory (I want to say it's $190)... or just get an SL ;oD you'll get the armrest, more cupholders, a rear seat foldy-down thingy, sunglasses holder and map lights...

only if you get the convenience package. If you get an SL w/o it, you don't get bluetooth.

Well, true - but if you encode your MP3s at a high bitrate (256kbps+) with a proven codec ("lame", for instance) the difference is imperceptible. Anything below 192 kbps certainly suffers, however.

I'd also recommend the SL for its many virtues. If you can swing it, I think you'd enjoy the amenities included over the S trim. I know this wasn't the point of your original question, but as others have mentioned, it is worth considering for reasons beyond iPod connectivity.

Another option would be to simply purchase the radio from someone's SL after they upgrade to an aftermarket unit, or simply upgrade to an aftermarket unit yourself. Either of these options could be done for roughly the same price as the OEM ipod adaptor.
