i recently installed a new sound system in my car

two 10" pioneer premier championship series pro, heres all the specs.

im also running on a 760 watt pioneer amp.

my concern is because i noticed all my lights dimming out and what not. i did look up alot of stuff but still confusion.

i also even got a 3 farad power acoustik capacitor installed and still have the same dimming.

i plan on buying a yellow top optima battery anyway because my battery is extremly old and would be very useful for alot of electronics.

i just want to have this kick *** sound system and not have to worry about any alternator problems.

suggestions?

you can upgrade to a high output alternator - you can do a search for "alternator upgrade" or "quest alternator" or something like that.

changing the battery probably won't hurt, but you might still get some dimming if your system draws too much power - less likely w/ an optima battery, but a battery can only do so much.

i have a 3farad cap and a second duralast gold 1100amp battery in my trunk, and even with my 8000 watt setup at max my headlights dont dim anymore. just a thought. you should get an isolator for a second battery tho.

You have to do the big 3 upgrade, http://www.the12volt.com/insta...~PN~1

It says after upgrading alternator, but I know people who just upgrade their grounds to 1/0 gauge and don't have dimming problems with stock alt.

I don't think Caps work at all. I've hurd mixed reviews about them, I have one in my lexus and my lights still dim. fyi

hope that helps.

i agree, the first thing i bought was the cap. my lights still dimmed so i upgraded my grounds, and put a second battery in, havent had a problem with it since. and thats on the stocker 85amp alt. i would like to upgrade just for peice of mind tho. ive had a couple cars with 110amp alts and didnt use the second battery and i didnt have any dimming problems in those.
