I am going to be starting on my sound system pretty soon. The first thing I will be doing is the subs and amps. I played on photoshop last night and want to know what you guys think about this amp design. I know it looks like it is elevated above the carpet, but the carpet will run flat into it. All the fiberglass will be done by myself and painted Winter Frost. The rest of the carpeting will be switched to black. I am trying to save as much trunk space space as I can, so the amps will level out at about the stock depth. There will also be plexi glass over the amps, so they dont get damaged. The center XD and Alpine Logo are going to light up as well.

There will be;

2- Alpine PDX 1.1000 amps1- Alpine PDX 4.150 amps

The subs;2- 10" Alpine Type X subs

So Tell me what you think of the Amp Design. The sub box Is just Mainley to show the placement. The final design will kind of be spur of the moment.

looks good man, can't wait to see the finished product.

The only thing I would suggest is flip the "amp triangle" 180 degrees, so the 4 channel is pointing towards the rear of the trunk, and only because it makes more sense wiring wise.

I dont really golf anymore. But I will still be ably to lay down my back seats to fit my hockey bag. Thats why I am setting it up the way I am. Should be about the same size as the stock trunk. Minus the back corners for the subs.

hahaha, I have two bags. One for goalie that fits all my gear including the leg pads. And that I haft to cram into the trunk, and it barly fits. But I can use my player bag, and it isnt nearly as big. I just put my leg pads in the back seat and have my sticks run from the trunk to the back seat. The players bag fits right down the middle, so it should fit perfectly without interfearing with the subs. If that bag doesnt work, I have like 4 more bags in my addic. I used to be sponsered, so I have a attic full of hockey gear. So I will make it work. But the most important part is being able to make the seats go down.

I will be buying the wood this weekend to start makeing the frame, then ordering the fiber glass. I hope to have the fiberglass the subs and one of the amps done by our december 13th meet. Then after christmas, I will get the other two amps, Alpine type X components, and the Alpine 505 dvd/nav. I will build the box for all 3 amps but can only afford one for the time being. Those amps are like $550 a piece, but come highley reccomended. Plus they are tiny so I can fit them without a problem.

Total system will probably run about $4000-$4500

Great choice! That's the same basic setup I'm going with. I just need to save some money.

Do you know anyone that works at Best Buy? You can get Alpine amps for a little more than half price with the employee discount.

If not email Broadfield he is an authorized dealer of Alpine and JL audio. Broadfield is also a NICO electronics sponsor.

Instead of the roof basked, go for more of an '80's style with a forever stylish trunk rack.

I think they were also offered in fake wood trim if shiny chrome isn't your thing.

of course its a photoshop. Didnt you just see dangeris's car like a few days ago.

I was just getting a little revenge for him suggesting it, and drawing out all the other basket suggestions.
