Sorry, had a busy week or so there.

It seems my post above was a little premature as I still had buzzing from multiple other spots on the door panels. Including the Armrest as you correctly mentioned. I had to add put felt tape in a few more places and admittedly the door is still not where i would like it to be. It almost seemed like I would address one area only for another area to become noticeable. Its a lot better now, but again not where I would like it to be. Buzzing is still there for me but its just not as noticeable.

My feeling is that the design of the panel is flawed, too many gaps and too much plastic. Second, the grade of metal used for the inner door panels is poor. I think there is a rattle inside the inner door panel that I may need to address. I am honestly not sure if I will be able to address this easily. I'm hoping more dynamat. For some perspective, I have spent about 20 hours of my own time working on the doors. Thats excluding time spent at the dealer, or getting the rear deck dynamatted (which sounds excellent now btw).

As for removing the panels, its not hard (sadly I'm a pro with these panels now), between testing and making changes over the past few weeks, I can remove the panel in less than a minute.

1. Use some pliers to pull the cover that is inside the door release handle.
2. Remove the bolt there with a ratchet.
3. Next, use an upholstery tool (or spatula) to pry the plastic cover that is inside the arm rest.
4. Remove the two screws there.
5. Pull the panel from the outer left, right and bottom edges.
6. From there just disconnect the cables and lock cables.

I currently have a 2010 loaded Altima 3.5 and I'm fed up with the fit and finish of the vehicle. So many squeaks, rattles, creaks, etc. I saw a used 2013 M37S yesterday at the Infiniti dealership and it was gorgeous like new blah blah. I have zero patience for rattles and buzzing sounds so I take it that this generation of M should be out of the question for me???

Creaks/rattles/squeaks/etc seem to be a common problem with the Nissan/Infiniti brand. The 4th generation Altima also experiences door/dash rattle when playing music with any minor/major bass. Attempting to have the dealership fix the noise even under warranty will problem be a headache any only result in your dash/door getting scraped/scratched, along with continued speaker/door rattle.

I think people are better off self installing or having a good audio installation shop address the door rattle by installing the likes of dynamat/hushmat in doors to reduce rattle. :yesnod

You know there are 10,000 Infiniti owners of this generation not having this problem, I really do have sympathy for those who do but really a forum like this is not a base to draw that conclusion

With all do respect there are also a lot of people (like pretty much everyone I vent to about my car) that says, "That noise? That wouldn't bother me." For example, my powered seat in my 30k Altima that was bought new, started creaking whenever it was initially sat in our went to zero gravity when going over freeway overpasses. This started happening at 50k miles. I'm currently at 83k miles and have had the bottom portion of the seat replaced twice and it still does it. I actually just got a call this morning from the head engineer or whatever saying that he tested another altima and it did the same thing, therefore it's a characteristic flaw for this model. The thing is the people I complain about this to all think it's not a big deal when in reality it SHOULDN'T be doing that. And my premium BOSE system does indeed rattle the back deck and parts of door panels buzz when certain frequencies are reached (this is after I had dynamat installed). I'm not trying to compare a M to an Altima. Again, family members all tell me I'm too anal. Oh well, I guess I am anal. I just don't want to drive myself nuts with rattles after buying a premium car that shouldn't express those problems at that pricepoint. I think it's safe to say that non-premium cars can expect to have a rattle or two after a couple years.

I didn't mean to rant, but I just think the majority of people that go onto forums are more anal than your "everyday" driver.

The rattle is so significant that it almost sounds like the door speakers are blown. Mechanics at the dealership tested other cars on their lot when they learned of my complaint, and informed me that all the other cars have the same issue.

If true, this is a design flaw in the new M class Infiniti -- at least I can think of no other answer.

The dealership was great -- they kept the car over a week, working to fix the problem. They were unable to fix the problem, however. Accordingly, Infiniti sent out a specialist to look into the problem. His report indicated there was no problem, notwithstanding that both I and the dealership techs clearly heard the buzzing. It's unclear to me whether he didn't hear the problem, or if he is saying that this problem is somehow acceptable based on Infiniti design parameters -- he has refused to speak with me, according to the customer service rep at Infiniti with whom I've been speaking.

This is beyond disappointing. I paid extra for the upgraded sound because sound is important to me. For Infiniti to refuse to address the problem, and even to refuse to do me the courtesy of having the specialist that looked into the issue discuss his findings with me, speaks to a lack of concern for the customer.
I feel your pain.
I have the same problem on my 2012 M37 with deluxe pckg. It's a damn shame!

Had the same issue in my 07 and have the same issue in my 2011.

My fix is going to be to turn the bass off completely after I install a small powered sub in the trunk to handle the lows. It's irritating and the ONLY issue I have with this car; honestly. I'm an audiophile though...totally sucks.

For me, its the center channel buzzing. The speaker does not appear blown. I put foam between the speaker cone and the basket and it stopped for a while. It started again so I took the speaker out all together. My 01 Maxima and 05 Altima had a rattle in the back deck. I was hoping for a little better from the Infiniti brand.

I have the same buzzing in my new Q70S...on the driver side. Not a big deal...but i'll deal with it sooner than later. It's usually a trim piece that needs to be wrapped in felt...at least that's what it was in all my other Infinitis...

Sorry to hear fellas, I thought I heard a small rattling sound in the drivers door panel but after awhile of me listening for it again, the rattling sound hasn't been heard again. I hope that Nissan/Infiniti can get this fix for such a worthy car.
