I've tried numerous random things to get my sound to work... Even a missing.reg file... This blows... Any suggestions, BESIDES download firefox.. I hate just doing something to ignore a problem. I'd rather fix it.

Well, you got me. What I would do in this situation is go into add/remove programs and start deleting IE updates starting with the most recent until it's fixed... usually works, lol. Problem is, IE will try to re-update, assuming this works. If it doesn't work, then re-updating is good!
Since it is freeware, read everything before you continue, so you don't accidentally install some annoying toolbar or another media player just because you forgot to uncheck a box for it.

Well, codecs weren't the answer either. I realized during the install, that the codes you gave me were for windows nt. They, of course, didn't fix the problem, so I googled xp codecs and got some, but still no fix.

Lol... It's alright.. I was too.. I downloaded xp codecs.. I have Vista... Either way, Ijust restored to my oldest restore file... It fixed it.. I was afraid of doing this earlier because I thought I would lose my music. It let me keep it though.

Well, in my updates options, it said that on the 26th, I deleted a realtek driver or something... I figure that was it.. I just selected the oldest update, then got rid of my current av software and installed avira
