Okay so today I was driving to school...and while I was driving I hear this weird noise coming from my left tire. It sounded like a metal chain hitting something (there is no chain...it's what the sound reminded me of) . It was on and off. I only heard it when I reversed, drove in the 15-30mph range and when I used the brakes. I accelerated to about 60-70mph and the sound was gone. My parking brake wasn't on either. I recently fixed the left rear caliper the other day because it wasn't in place properly. Any ideas what this sound could be? I checked underneath the car and nothing was out of place. I know it's coming from the rear left wheel area.

I searched BTW...no results that match my problem. My brakes are all stock. I only hear the noise...no problems with handling whatsoever.

there is no real way to find out unless you look at it ...

1) wheel barring went bad2) the sliders on the calipers need to be greased ( most people take the caliper off and dont do this ) 3) something can be stuck there4) dust shiled can be bent.

I have the same problem...only happened recently after I went drifting this past month... Top, I am due to go into the shop this weekend - I'll check mine out...maybe it might offer some clues for you.
