I feel compelled to ask, why not the PXI-H990?

Believe it or not I also own the PXI-H990 which truly is an incredible piece. Personally I am just a fan of true unadulterated raw power and sound. The warmth that is produced by that D/A is completely natural where as on such revealing speakers like the GTi's digital processing just does not compare.

Fair enough, but how are you controlling the crossovers for your speakers? I'm not entirely familiar with the C990, but I'm fairly certain it only contains a subwoofer crossover (if any).

And I just noticed this:

I know this is going to come off as me being a d!ck, but that is one hell of a ballsy statement. Even if it were true. I'll give you the Alpine F1 gear, but everything else? Absolute best components? I'd be willing to bet my stereo that, aside from your Alpine stuff, if you polled 100 car stereo enthusiasts on the best gear out there the JBL stuff wouldn't come up once. I'm not saying it sucks, but it definitely isn't the best.

I recently pulled McIntosh out of my car so I am familiar with what "the best" is. But if you don't have confidence you won't succeed. =D

My real opinion. Those GTi Components are absolutely amazing. The amps could use quite a bit of work in the low end vocal range. Which is why they are getting changed out. Stay tuned. =D

I've read good things about the GTi660s, but other than that, I'm at a loss on the selection. Why not grab a more powerful amp for them? Even if you wanted to stay JBL, you could've gotten the 1004 instead of the 504. And why the GTO subs? No W12GTi MkII (I think I have that model correct)? Just doesn't make sense to me. Personally, I'm not a huge JBL fan, but to each their own. However, if you're going to rock their top of the line component set, why choose amps/subs that are basically entry-level? And how do you have the DLS Iridium 3s crossed? Don't the GTis come with a 2-way passive x-over? I'm missing how you are running a three-way setup. Seems like with only the components you've listed you would have a bunch of overlap somewhere...

I'd hate to be that guy as well, but Bonker is correct: the majority of your equipment is far from the best.

I wasn't ripping on anyone. Just pointing out that if you're going to make a statement calling something the "best", there better be a lot of people that would agree. I wouldn't even call my gear the best. But I would bet that a lot of it would break into most enthusiasts' top five. I understand audio is subjective, but consensus does not agree with the OP's statement. Not even a little.

I've said it numerous times, if someone is happy with their stuff that is all that matters. Most people wouldn't put the time and money into a setup like I have. In fact, they'd probably call me crazy. But it's worth it to me. My only point was that the install on this car looks great. I just don't get the choice in products.

Wow, love the custom fab work and fiberglass. Super-clean ride man. Don't take people's rants to heart. If it's the best sounding setup you've come across, grats man! I'm willing to bet it's the cleanest. I agree with Apple on selection however, but I admit I'm not too familiar with JBL beyond their home audio. My setup isn't the best, but it's the best sounding system I've owned, which is all that is important. My commendations sir.
