Sorry about the plethora of posts lately:

I'm thinking about getting these wheels instead of the G35 for money reasons.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...43955

What do you guys think? Also, what's appropriate tire size for those and will wheels bolt right on?

Thanks and again sorry for inconvenience,

nick

They look like the stock rims off 1995-1996 Q45. Should be 6.5" rims. No better than the stock 90 rims, unless yours are suffering wear. The Q45t rims by BBS were forged, but the same size.

That price seem a little steep. I sold my old rims for $50.00, and tthat inlcuded Michelin tires!

They are a royal pain in the a$$ to clean!

Keep your eyes open, and be sure to check the B/S/T fourm. Do a search for Q45 wheels.

Unfortunately, mine are pretty worn. Besides, I want a new look. It's been too long.

Understand. I like them. The BBS ones are much harder to clean. Require toothbrushing.

In fact, I think Dennis is using these on his 1990 Q45.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t

Jeff,

I checked the B/S/T and came up w/ these:

He will hopefully e-mail me pics. Are these the same wheels as the eBay? Also, that tire size seems a little light, am i wrong?

Tire size is OEM. By "HICAS wheels" he may mean the t model, which could be BBS. Pictures will tell.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t

nick, i guess i'm biased, maybe i should have toned it down a little!!! i just bought rims from ebay from the 99Q( i think azhitman has these as well), will get my hands on them tues. with all the posts on rims it seems like a better path to stick with infiniti rims--low weight and strong. if i was given the choice, i would go with the infiniti rims you listed first on ebay or the bbs rims. they both will be harder to clean, but from an asthetic viewpoint that's the direction i would go(assuming they are in good shape). if you were going to go aftermarket, i think dennis has mentioned that bbs makes very high quality rims(but you'll pay!!) there's more knowledgable than myself on this subject, but like i said, just my opinion. jeff

Thanks Jeff. I like the first set I posted also. Now just trying to find a good price and what tire size I should use. But I'm still open to other wheels. Those ones sultan posted look sweet.

215/65 or 235/60 are ideal, 225/60 are actually available in decent quantities for the stock rim. Nothing less than V rated. Even H rated Michelin is a compromise, but is available in the obscure 235/60-15 size.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t

I'm a little biased, but I really like these wheels on the 1st gen Q:D

I saw a set a week or so ago on eBay listed in the $200 range if I remember correctly.

Do you have tires yet? I bought these Michelins from TireRack.com on sale for $102 each. They look like they're the best deal going right now. They look wide, but I'm sure they'll be fine after they're mounted... a couple of the other guys on the site are running that size on our wheels with good results.

The Michelin Pilot XGT wet behavior scares the daylights out of me! In a 16" size, for a Q, I would much rather recommend the Firestone SZ50EP. Look at this: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...50+EP for an outstanding tire. The 245/50ZR-16 would fit a 16" wheel very nicely and is a strong tire (over the 95 rating needed).

The price is also not too bad (compared to the Michelin): $137 per tire. For a stock 1990-1995 rim (the 15x6.5 that is common), the 225/60ZR-15 is $105 per tire. An excellent value!
