sorry to ask but.... VLSD question

ya, I know this has been covered before, but I’m in abit of a hurry, I did search and quickly look at the FAQ but I didn't find anything or got mixed answers.

Ok, how can I tell if a 240 has a LSD without doing the actually test buy spinning the wheels well its lifted? I’m looking at a 91 tomorrow. here is what I’ve heard, I have been told that all 240's with ABS have LSD's, I’ve also been told that’s not true, can anyone confirm this for me? I have also been told all models with HICAS have a VLSD stock, can anyone confirm that aswell?i am in canada and this is a cnd 240 if that matters at all, i know the rumor about all canadian 240's haveing LSD's no matter what is not true.

And I know that there will be a sticker on the dif if it is VLSD equipped, but other then that and the wheel spinning test, is there any way to be sure? Basically I want to know if I can tell just by what options its equipped with.

vLSD was an option on Fastback SEs for the 91-93 years

When you got HICAS it was the "Handling Package" Which included: sport springs, vLSD, HICAS. ABS was optional on all cars and doesnt not dictate whether it has the vLSD!!! The Canadian model thing was a myth.

Best thing to do is look for the sticker next to the fill hole on the left side of the differential. just put a jack under the diff, jack it up and look.

That is a difficult question to ask. Most of the guy's on here are american.. The Canadian 240's you will be looking at are optioned a little differently.

I believe all Canadian S13's after 1990 had vlsd. On the 89 - 90 it was an option.

My 240 LE has ABS but no Hicas. I have VLSD.

I have a USspec 92 240SX with Super HICAS and VLSD...but no ABS.
