Hey i'm a newbie and i'm gonna install brake pads tomorrow. I did the fronts and they were easy but I started the rear just as it was getting dark so I stopped. I didn't have too much time to try but the rear pads seemed a bit trickier with the retainers etc. Perhaps if I had more time to look it would be easy, but if anyone has a simple trick to get the pads/retainers in that would be great.

pads just stick right in, turn the rear piston with a needle nose pliers to make it go in.

Yes, I found that you can turn the piston clockwise to make it go in (in the fronts I just squeezed it in with a clamp). But my question is even sillier then that. I couldn't figure out how to get the pads into the retainers and then into the housing lol. perhaps when its bright enough that wont be a problem

the retainers go in first, then just kinda slip a pad in, i dont know how else to explain it. and light always helps

would i need an anti rattle spring my brother keeps talking about? or do the pads fit right in the old ones?

it pisses me off because i have to order another god damn part, and its taken me 3 weeks to accumulate my required parts (breaks/tune-up)

there are those little metal clips that the pads slip into, but you can reuse the old ones just fine. there isnt an anti rattle spring on the 240
