kerrton, I see you have posted on edmonds and other forums complaining about all of your problems. Yes there are positive replys to my post but as I see it no one has said on the Rogue forum any more than 48,000 miles so what happens when they reach that magic number where it does go out?

Yes some Murano owners said that a little over 100,000 and they need a new cvt. Even now after the Murano haveing the cvt since 2003 I see that the 2007 still have the same issue. In my opinion even at 100,000 is too early for such an expensive repair. It's not just Nissan but all manufacturers. I think they all forgot how to make a dependable auto.

I had a 1992 escort that I put 170,000 miles on and did nothing to it but change oil and replace the things that every car that drives on the road needs replaced.

I know I've been on other forums for all makes and models and yes there are good and bad on all!!!! As I see it the cvt is still relatively new as far as mass auto use and I don't want to be guinea pig for any manufacturer esp since I can't afford to shell out up to and over $7,000 when it does fail.

I hope that I am wrong and you continue a trouble free car.

Thanks for taking the time to post that, I appreciate it, you make some good points, and there is definately no hard feelings. If I over-reacted to your posts I apologize too.

Best of luck with your vehicle search.

Kerrton, have you heard anything back about your transmission yet. I believe on Edmonds you said today or tomorrow.

You must have me confused with someone else, I can't remember ever reporting anything on Edmonds. I had my transmission issue quickly and painlessly dealt with last year, my dealer noticed the noise right away and told me they'd be replacing the transmission ASAP. The work took them half a day, and my car has run smoothly and absolutely perfectly since the defective part was replaced, I couldn't be happier and my experience with my service department and the immediate response from Nissan Canada to authorize the replacement was top notch, I couldn't have asked for any better, friendly, and efficient service. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this vehicle or any Nissan to my friends. One thing to be aware of is that the Japanese manufacturers (not sure about Korean) do not place monthly warranty limits on their dealers so in theory it should be much easier to get warranty work approved, as the dealer makes money off of this work, whereas the North American dealers do have to work within these limits, so depending on the month and timing it could get difficult to have warranty work done.

Anyway, like I said I couldn't be happier with the Rogue and Nissan in general.

I locked the other thread because I felt it was getting a little too personal. I wasn't offended myself.
