Even shut off once!5) Car dead in driveway - go it jump started - dealer found nothing.. of course!6) Rear tailgate stopped working - dealer finally fixed something!!7) Dash display, radio, heater, A/C, fan died - came back 10 minutes later8) Noises in front doors when closing9) Vent puts out hot air in summer

That's awful. I have a 2009 Murano and other than replacing a tire pressure monitor sensor that failed, I have had zero problems after 1-year and 18K miles. Had a Maxima previously and after 2 years of ownership had zero problems. I would call Nissan Customer Relations and talk to them about it. Would also get your repair paperwork in order as you may well have recourse under your state's lemon law. This is not typical of Nissan. BTW, I bought a 2006 BMW brand new and had nothing but trouble. After much complaining to BMW, they gave me a new car---a 2007---at no additional cost to me. The new car has been trouble free. Point is you can get a lemon, but if you complain enough to the right people you can get it worked out. Good luck.

Sorry to hear of your problems. You might want to try another dealer to help you with your problems. I have had very good luck with dealers, even in other states. I have a '04 with almost 90k miles and no problems. I just purchased a cousin of the Murano ( a Maxima) and no problems with that one either.

Dealers, skills and attitudes towards customer satisfaction and service run the gamut from clueless and we don't care to competent professional and we aim to please (and do)...

I've had both with my 09 Murano LE. For instance when my rims began show signs of pitting and corrosion, a dealer I had used for years told me only the Manager could deal with this and he's not here (whenever I was) They'd have to take pictures and consult with corporate before they could decide what to do - another dealer took a look, shook his head, apologized on behalf of Nissan and wrote the order for 4 new rims. Took a week to special order and had them on in less than an hour and I was on my way after having coffee and and a muffin (on them) in the waiting room... On top of that, they noticed a rusting screw head on the roof rack cross bar and replaced the bar!

Guess where I'm going from now on...

Other than that, the only issues I have with the Murano are with the AC that seems to want to come on in any mode no matter how cold outside (they say it's normal to de-humidify the air) and I can always just touch the AC button if I don't want it on... And the other is that the sun shade sticks in cold weather when closing at about the 3/4 mark... Hard to duplicate for the dealer without leaving it overnight out in the cold,,,

Otherwise it's a great ride!!!

Don't give up, make some noise. Call other dealers, call Nissan corporate. make your voice heard. Don't think all Nissans are bad because you got a lemon. We have 8 cars and they are all Nissans, Infinitis, or Datsuns. 3 of them are over 40 years old and they will run all day long. Hope you get your issue resolved soon.

Good luck!

First off, welcome to NICOclub! We are glad to have you as a new member of the Murano Forum!

I can't say this enough, but GET YOUR MURANO TO ANOTHER NISSAN DEALER!!!!!! Not all Nissan dealers are the same! You might be very shocked as to how a different dealer will treat you. Good luck!

1) tire lite - took dealer 4 visits to put out -
Same issue - light comes on, stays on for a few weeks, goes back off for a while, then back on... dealer "couldn't find anything wrong". Of course it was off while at the dealer.

4) Rain sensitive wipers are clueless to the rain!!! Even shut off once!
Agree - this system seems clueless most of the time

6) Rear tailgate stopped working - dealer finally fixed something!!
Ours sometimes gives the annoying "beep beep beep" - and then nothing. On opening and closing. But works fine 98% of the time

Sorry for all the issues! That is certainly not normal on the Murano!!!! I would really suggest getting your Murano to a different dealer, you might find you have better service elsewhere. I hope this helps and I hope your problems are rectified! I know in the end you will really enjoy your Murano. Good luck! :bigthumb:

Dont care what brand of car you buy, all of them have issues. If you search this sit it appears that these cars have very good reputation, very few complaints.

Had a volvo once that you name it and it failed from the day it was new until the day we sold it back to VOLVO dealer. I mean stuff you would never think would fail.

My last car before the 2010 Murano was and accura MDX. It was a great vehicle with exception of the transmission which they were notorious for. You would hope that when you spend nearly 50k on a vehicle that is made by a company with the reputation that Honda does would not be plagued with Trannie trouble.

Thus far the Murano has been excellent. My only complaint would be suspension is too soft, not a defect just how it is made.

Not sure if you are out of lemon law range but you may want to explore that before it is too late.

I agree with others- don't let one bad car ruin your impression of a whole brand. Although that is hard to do, I know. This is my first Murano, but I have had zero problems with it (got new in May 2009, now have 12k miles) and absolutely love it. I have always had honda's in the past- 11 of them between my brother, sister and myself. Not one thing has every gone wrong them, so I now buy Honda's without every thinking about it. But I also know people who have had horrible experiences with Honda. My worst experiences.... Ford by far.

I have also found that going to a different dealer makes a world of difference. You wouldn't think it would, but it does. Also, from the stats on repairs/problems with the new Muranos, you definitely have one of the very few cars with problems. That sucks.

Same opinion as above. I drove a Volvo S70, which was known for major electrical problems although I had none. I haven't read about any major problems with electrical problems in the Murano at all. I I haven't had any either- although my car is new basically. The key fob deal is not really an electrical problem. You can do things in certain sequences that through the fob off-especially with the rear hatch -- just start over essentially by manually locking and unlocking at the front drivers door and then use the fob. It should be fine.

More electrical problems.

Backup camera - first it would not shut off - then it did shut off - permanently. Took dealer 4 days to debug and finally replace a bad switch.

While there, dealer replaced the tire pressure sensor due to the "recall". (What recall? I've never received any recall notice).

60 pound dog sat in front passenger seat. Passenger airbag was deactivated - permanently. Dealer had to "reset" it.

60 pound dog sat in the front seat again. Passenger side airbag was permanently disabled again. Dealer had to reactivate it again. Dealer said this was "normal". (Yes, I'm going to find another "dealer"). Complained up the chain. The chain instructed the dealer to replace the switch that controls the passenger airbag activation.

Many of the nav system settings changed randomly. This on the same day the backup camera died...

Yep, I think my 2009 Murano is plagued with electrical problems. Wonder what's next?

I am curious as to if anyone other than the LE owners have had any electrical problems? :-)

No significant issues with our LE, it's been basically trouble free since I drove it off the lot. We had the gas door stick once, lubed it up no problems since. We find it a pleasure to drive and a great vehicle for long trips.

Juan- You may want to remind your dealer that there is a service bulletin for the sticking sunshade. Mine started to stick and I took it into the dealer (but was able to show them) and they gave me a free loaner for two days (they had to order the parts), and hasn't been a problem since. And this wasn't even the dealer I bought the car from!
