Hey guys, i've been on these boards a long time and never needed to post a question uz ive always founf my answers...

Now i have a problem.. Ive never had this happen before but here it is.
So i replaced my rear pads and rotors with premium rear oem replacement pads and some cheap oe replacement new rotors. The car doesnt roll freely in neutral no. No the ebrake isnt engaged.

So where did i go wrong here?
I read your diy on the tech page whilst doing the job and i did it a little different where i didnt remove the ebrake cable from the calipur and swing the piston up... I just took the piston off the tourqe member, rested it on my rlca, and them proceeded to remove the tourqe member and replace the rotor and then the pads.

Any help would be appreciated, and flaming is welcome, feeling pretty newb right now :gapteeth:

Alright well no ones chiming in here so...... Thanks for the support everyone.

Turned out the rotor is not sitting flush on the hub once i slide the calipur over the pads. I cqnt juat slide this one one straight the pins seem to stick out too far so i need to slide it on on an angle to start and it pushes the rotor in towards the front of the car making the back side not sit flush.... Solution? Help? Bash? Anyone?

Does your car have ABS? And if not did you accidentally buy ABS equipment? I can't remember off the top of my head if the rears are different between ABS and non-ABS cars, but it definitely is for the fronts. Be sure to grease up the pins as they can cause binding as well.

did you turn the caliper pistons into the bore to make room for the new thicker pads?

Yes i have abs. iirc the rear abs rotor is slightly bigger but the pads are the same.
I turned the piston in all the way.... Its the damn pins, they dont slide in or out so now im gona fiddle around with those and see if i can loosen them up.

Thanks for the input... Also would like to know.. I have some brake calipers left over from my non-abs 1995 240sx (4lug). The casting look pretty much the same have to take my rears off for a good compare but would anyone know if i can just swap the caliper instead of f@cking with the 92's.

If I'm not mistaken, the e-brake cable mounting bracket on the caliper and the calipers themselves are different
from a S13 to S14. I tried putting S14 rear calipers on my S13, didn't work. :lolling: Although my S14 was 5 lug

I wish mine was 5lug that would have saved me money on this s13 project.
So from looking at it quickly the torque members look the same so im going to paint em up to match and swap just that in... Least amount of work i could figure out without sacrificing quality :)

Ill take a look at the ebrake cable mounts and let you know what i find on differences.
Ive searched numerous forums and apparently this happens to quite a few guys... Most of which dont care as they swap to bigger brakes... Im doing an r32 gtr brake swap this winter but decided to just do the fronts for now so i dont need to find a bigger MC untill later when i delete my abs. So i figured new pads and rotors in the rear will be an easy upgrade for fairly cheap.... Why does my 21 yr old car have to be so fussy :(

So heres the deal...
My s14 brakes (mounts, cable mount) are exactly the same except the piston is just a tiny bit smaller.... Maybe cuz its non abs.
Pins are stuck on them too!! Wtf!!
So ive taken the pins out of them all and put the best looking ones back on greased up. Problem solved! Bah stupid pins
