PS hopefully not a repost, and sorry its not about the ka-t, although that would be sick if he would make a 240 and build a ka-t in it

wow I'm just gonna say it, that is the biggest waste of time. 20,000 hours,15 yrs, and no one can even drive it. he could have had made a full scale version and probably taken less time. probably wouln't even cost any more, by being able to substitue parts and/or modifiying existing parts rather then manufacturing them. sorry the logical part of my brain refuses to let me tip my hat to the guy.

That's a pretty asinine comment. You did hear his reasons for doing it, right? He didn't do it to build a drivable car. The logical part of your brain needs some more logic.

You missed the whole point of.

Man, that is cool as hell. I can't believe he actually made those parts himself. The kicker is that it actually runs/drives. WTF...lol.

just my opinion, Hey I'll give the guy credit for the skill, I didn't miss the point, but lets be reasonable, which do you find better a ferrari in your driveway or a model of one in your dinning room? now we can go round and round on philosophy, what's considered art, reason vs. emotion, , was it the chicken or the egg, pepsi or coke, paper or plastic.....but to me spending 15 years to make a useless car seems silly. sorry its the engineer in me to apply technology to improve the way of life not waste 15 years of it;)

p.s. logic (noun); sensible argument and thought; sensible rational thought and argument rather then ideas that are influenced by emotion or whim.

I totally agree. What on Earth makes a guy decide to dedicate his life to building a useless model car with no practical purpose? Almost seems like he's afraid of trying to live a real life. I mean why not just buy a replica and get a sound clip?

And he hasn't even considered making it RC and having some fun with it???

It's a passion, there are guys that spend countless hours building scale model trains, planes, boat s, you name it, to such a high degree, it's craftsmanship applied to scale models. Guys like this build models for some of your favorite movies... and you never knew they were models... The do for love and money...

im pretty sure that if the CEO ferrari saw this..he would give him a free ferrari. my friends dad is like the ultimate ferrari fan, but that video just put him to shame.

that is absolutely amazing. those valves are incredible, i'd just love to see how he made that on the lathe i saw..its too precise. and i wonder if he cast that block for that engine.

i wonder if he'd do a porshe 906 carrera 6..my all time favorite car.. , i'd pay twice, even triple what he'd ask for it..scratch it, i'd kill for it

I agree with the "total waste of f-in time"...but thats just my opinion.

Seriously though, I understand the whole passion aspect of it. But I will never dedicate that much time to somthing as selfish and worthless as that. If he sold it and donated the money to homeless kids or toys for tots..then hell yeah, he's the man. But no, that friggin geek is gonna sit in his shop, turn it on and masturbate. Probably sitting in a puddle of his own fecies and semen right now....if thats your bag...well then good luck in life.

I think stuff up all the time...or build somthing "my way". But these things have a point in life. Lets not forget...I'm the man

The guy devoted 15 years of his life to a pointless endevor. Yes it is incredable but no life for 15 years just to have something utterly pointless. I say the guy has issues.

Kinda like turbocharging the KA24E...LOL Just kiddin brah...I had to do it.

I agree 100% though...life is far to short to waste on somthing like that. The dudes got talent, imagine what he could do if he actually applied himself to somthing useful.

What the guy built is completely amazing, but was it worth all the time? I was going to say it really wasn't that much time but then did quick math and saw that he spent approxiamtely 4 hours a day for those 15 years. As sweet as it is, I don't think it would really be worth all that time.

Sure its really cool, But you need to think into things. Why do we even bother making our cars go fast? Its just the sensation we like. This guy seems like he has his life pretty set, and besides.... he old, cut him some slack

from the sounds of it, the interviewer is the guy from TestDrive, so he must be rather famous.

Hay, did you guys notice that the interviewer is laughing when he shows him the valves and springs. Judging from the sound of the laugh, it seems fairly obvious that he is actually laughing at the guy for being such a loser and not because he found the little valves humerous.

Maybee the guys wife is a super mega ***** and that's how he keeps away from her.

Hell, there are endless people who spend 15 years just watching TV and getting fat. This guy has a full time job and passionately pursues a hobby in his spare time, nothing wrong with that.

Although, I am sure if he is married she must be ugly because no women worth a damn is going to let there husband spend that much time on a undrivable ferrari.
