i'm laying out my turbo set-up (T25) AND I HAVE TWO I/C'S?!?anyways one is a 1st gen dsm 4" thick 8" tall 6" across 2" in/out. the other has slightly more space between fins, dunno who made it?, it measures 3" thick 5" tall 25" across 2.5" in/out.which is better? which will keep temps down, hp up, and less lag? ??

post up some pictures if you get a chance but i would guess the first one's core would flow better judging only by it's dimensions, but the inlets and outlets are small. since you are using a t25, it should be ok.

here's a stupid suggestion: weld them together and make an FMIC. or just get one from ebay for $200 shipped. they are that cheap nowadays.

i know i know it's not what you asked for, but i'm just givign suggestions, as most pople upgrade later anywya, so why not do it once and have the piping all there already for an even bigger FMIC. Heh. Sorry.

the 3x5x25 sounds like a small fmic. What are your power goals? You might as well use the fmic.

your right the 25" is a front mount the reason i'm thinking of using the dsm is i dont want that big a pressure drop, my hp goal is 200 crank on the stock 7lbs but i want a fast spool.i hate lag!!!!!!!!!!!

should i use 2" piping seeing that the intercooler ends are 2" or should i go 2.5" with reducers? the t25 has a 2" apt turbo adaptor for the charge side of the i/c or whatever.

i just ordered a 12x24x3 bar and plate off ebay for 140 shipped LOL. if you use the dsm side mount, for your piping i would go 2'' in and 2.25 out or 2.5 . wont matter that much at that low of power. i would def choose the fmic over the SM anyways. youll be running the same amount of piping with either cooler, and less chance of heat soak with the fmic. show yo grille bish!
