ok i need a little help with this.. my car overheats within 5 minutes... while im driving about 3 minutes you see the temp. rise.. then when the car is at idle it rises... so i have to turn on the heater full blast to cool it down/ or turn off the car... but i have changed the radiator cap, and thermostat.. but it was doing the same thing... i read about bleeding the coolant system but can someone instruct me on how to do that? Also my other question is i noticed i have two fans i think one is the ac fan and the other is the radiator fan but does that other fan come on..?? because i havent seen it on yet.. is it an AC fan? and only suppose to come on when the AC is on?

I have a 95 240SX SE any help would be appreciated thanks =)

did you recently change coolant? if so you may have air in the system. make sure you bleed the sytem. jack up front of the car remove 10mil coper looking bolt near the TB right near the top radiator hose and fill coolant up untill it starts coming out of that hole. cant remember exactly where that bolt is untill i look at my car so if someone knows what i am talking about correct me if i am wrong.

once that is done install a funnel(special tool autoparts stores may have them) on the radiator filler neck and run the car with heat on for like 20mins so that most air is removed from the system. durring that time if you see bubbles constantly coming out of the funnel you probably have a blown cylinder head gasket

if that doesnt work perform a cylinder leak down or compression test to see if you have a blown head gasket

hi yeah you know i just added some coolant in there so im thinking there is air bubbles... i opened up the radiator cap.. and unscrewed the 10mm nut next to the top radiator hose.. and when my engine warmed up there was white foam coming out of where i unscrewed the plug.. but should i just leave it unplugged and let all the white foam come out and wait til just straight coolant comes out or what??

i believe you are supposed to unscrew the bolt and add coolant until just coolant comes out of the hole(no bubbles). this works best on a very steep hill or with the front of the car jacked up.its not necessary but it helps to get all the air out.
