Bosch Mega Power 44B19R, but I need a new one because it doesn't like being left sitting there for a week without being started up. I'll probably replace it with a Westco one from FRSport....once I go back home

Im using an Odyssey battery. They are like $100 bucks but they work great and are very reliable and compact.

+1 for another miata battery, Cant go wrong for a nice battery that's only like $70 bucks from the dealer. I have yet to have the battery die on me even if i leave the car to sit for a month it still starts up on the first crank

Lawn and garden battery, it fits perfectly. Been using it for over a year now with absolutely no issues. Just get the one with the highest cranking amps and cold cranking amps. Piping is for an s13 sr btw, don't mind the KA that it's attached to.

You can see the fitment on the left side. I had to make a custom tie-down, but that's no biggie with a few metal straps.

Optima red top relocated to the rear passenger's floorboard and bolted down through the floorpan (and framerail) using a stamped steel battery tray and grade 8 hardware.

Thanks. I have had to replace mine twice in 5 years (3 total), however, one was bad off the shelf (didn't realize it until it was put in the car). The Optima Redtops are warrantied for 3 years from the date on the battery (a small sticker that shows month/year) though so both times that I had to replace them (when the 1st went bad, and bringing back the bad off of the shelf one), I didn't pay for it. Just keep your original receipt and try to get the newest one they have on the shelf if you need to purchase again.

you guys are Right On!

Optima FTMFW!

Relocate the battery to the trunk..if you have problems with drainage then put a shut off switch like all the Kool Guys do..
