Hello to all. I plan on buying a two owner 1999 i30 this weekend with 95k on it. I think it a good car and hope to get many years out of it. I hope to gain some insight about that particular car before I actually buy it. Any help with the final decision would be appreciated. Thanks in advance and hope to use this forum in the future.rox

Well it is probably one of the best and most reliable used cars you can buy. and the engines are bullet proof. but what exactly were you hoping to learn about it? if you give us specific questions im sure people will be able to fill you in better!

And welcome to Nico!

I was told to watch for transmission as well as knock sensor problems. The guy telling me this wrapped the conversation around a sales pitch for a used car warrenty. I did not buy the car he was selling. I am looking at a different one at this point.

I dont think you need to be very concerned about either of those things. the knock sensors rarely go bad and almost definietly wouldnt go bad with 95 000 miles. what model are you looking at? automatic I assume? These cars are pretty solid. just do some good background searches and it should be a very solid car.

Don't worry about either of those things. Just do the routine maintenance and it will serve you well. I would recommend taking the VIN on any Infiniti you're looking at to a dealer and having them pull the service records.
