payments depend on your credit, how long you want to pay on it etc

insurance depends on your address, driving history, age, car, model car (I-4, V6, turbo, supercharged etc) and sometimes credit (dependant on company)

Looks pretty good. My buddy bought a '95 a month ago. Fun car, the T-tops will be nice in the summer. New pump, seals and timing belt are a $1200 job, so you're good to go there. Remove the rear lower cover and make sure there aren't any oil leaks. I guarantee that new shocks and bushings will make the ride feel so much better. Hopefully you can set aside $1-2k for upgrades.

If the 2nd one hasn't had the timing belt done yet, I'd pass, or at least get them to drop the price by $1200 and then have it done immediately. You can't risk something that critical.

I like the second one. Talk to them see if they will do the timing belt one less warranty for them to worry about. If they say no have them drop their price.

thanks for the timing belt help, i would of never thought of it. i have found a timing belt replacement kit for $770. would it be hard to do it myself (with my dads help), or how much would it cost for a mechanic to do it? also, does anybody know about how much it would cost to fix the paint chips on the first one? thanx.

Whoa, $770? What does that include? I got all the parts for the job from Scottsdale for $338 shipped. Included belt, tensioner, short coolant hoses, water pump, all seals and orings, all accesory belts, and crank sprocket. Everything needed, and even some things not needed. The job itself is 6 or 7 book hours, so multiply that by the shop labor rate. But that doesn't include doing the seals, which is probably another 1-2 hours...they're a good idea.2 guys can do it in a weekend if you have all the tools. Wasn't too hard. Took me and a buddy maybe 16 hours total on his Z. If we had to do it again it would take maybe 8-10 probably now that we know what we're doing.

the $770 includes A/C Compressor Belt, Fan & Alternator Belt, Power Steering Pump Belt, Timing Belt, Water By Pass Hoses (2), Water Pump Assembly, Camshaft O-Ring Seals (2), Camshaft Oil Seals (4), Front Crankshaft Oil Seal, VTC Tensioner Springs, Timing Belt Tensioner, Thermostat, Silicone Gasket and Long Life Nissan Antifreeze and idle pully kit.

but i really want the first one. the second one is a back-up plan if the first one is in bad condition.

My price included all of that except for the Silicone gasket ($3), the Antifreeze ($5?), and the idler pulley kit (?), plus it included the crank sprocket and spacer plate. Stay away from whoever offered you that "deal"!

the idler pully kit costs about $240. and it was ultimatez.com that i found that at. it seems that they have good deals on other 300zx parts.

Still not sure what that is. Is it an underdrive pulley kit for crankshaft, alt, etc? You could still save almost $200, getting the pulley kit from them and the other stuff from Scottsdale. There are sites out there with a photo how-to for this job. Email me if you can't find one and I'll send you the link.

They both look pretty clean from the pictures. I really like those wheels on the '93 better than the wheels of the '91. The 91 does have a few thousand fewer miles on it. But I think that the maintenance history of the 93 makes it the one to go for in my opinion. Especially having the timing belt done at 110k.

i dont know what the idler pully kit is either. all the site says is it asks if i want to add it to my order. depending on which one i get and if the second one has the timing belt replaced, i will talk to your more on that.

other than the timing belt, is there anything else i should check for that specifically attains to a 300zx? thanks you all for helping me.

*edit* i forgot to ask this. the guy with the '93 said the shifter is a little vague because there is a plastic bushing in the shifter causing that, how much and how do you replace that?
