I just placed a deposit on a 07 black/wheat coupe 6mt premium aero and sat. I have to wait until the end of the week for the car to come from South Carolina, but it was exactly what I was looking for. I have to admit that in 04 I was looking at the Rx-8 and the G35, but decided to support my new in-laws who work for Ford and purchased the Rx-8 6spd. (Very good price on their A plan discount) Let's just say that it was the worst decision I ever made on a car. That thing had more problems than a family on Jerry Springer. 12 service trips in the first year, and an additional 6 the following year. I understood that it was a first year model but that was absolutely crazy. I will give the RX-8 one compliment though:) That was by far one of the best handling vehicles and when nothing was wrong very fun to drive. I look forward to enjoying my new G35 for years to come. I couldn't justify the cost of the G37 since I paid invoice and got the 1.9% for 60 months.

So I go to take delivery of my new G35 today and of course it starts to pour rain, so after a rather hurried delivery I take off in my new G on the 22 mile drive home. Well, when I get home of course it is sunny on my end of town and low and behold as I inspect my now dry vehicle I notice a rather large blemish on the front lower bumper. After closer inspection there is no clear coat and a scratch through the paint about an inch long. I couldn't believe it... how in the world did I not see this? So without restraint I go in and call the sales manager at the dealership hoping that I am not about to get bent over and spanked for this obvious lack of attention during my quick walk around. As I begin to explain what has happened he stops me and says just bring it back and we will take care of it. Without hesitation I jump in the car and get back to the dealership. So I am wondering the whole way there if this will be one of those "quick fixes" that I am unhappy with everyday or if they are really going to make it right. After the sales manager comes out to look at it he immediately calls the collision shop and says they need to get me in asap. The only thing I am worried about is that when they repaint the bumper, is the paint going to match. I sure hope so....On the bright side the 44 miles I put on the car so far was with a giant smile on my face. I should get her back around lunch on Friday.
