Hi! I'm the newb wit da '92 vert.

I tried to find out what I needed before getting into the interior molding but there wasn't much help. I also have the experience of being disappointed with the sound system in every convertible I've ever been in so I wanted to do this right.

I started by pulling off the door panel to discover why the speaker in my drivers side door didn't work.

*************WARNING*********************Removing the door panels on verts is a pain in da a---well you know.******************************************

While in there I discovered the unspeakable. they used the most cheesy speaker possible for the front door... 4x6" :( So I started a quest to find a good sounding speaker for that hole and wound up on the doorstep of Infinity. Their Reference 6402's kick with the power from the headunit and are even better with amps :pface. They only required that I cut out the circle on the back of the 240' speaker plates and didn't cause any problems. Since I was already there at the Infinity display I discovered their Kappa 60.5's and was quite impressed. With little room for speakers in the vert these turned out to be the perfect combination:ylsuper. They required that I cut out the metal to the screw holes to allow the wide plastic frames of the Kappa's to fit into the existing speaker hole. The only visible augmentation are the tweeters from the component system I had to cut 2" holes in my rear side panels. Even though it is incomplete, wanting a bit on the low end (just a touch) I'm already in audiophile heaven:icesangel

Head Unit: Sony CDX-M8800Front amp: Denon DCA-3180 (under the passenger seat)Rear amp : Denon DCA-3500 (5 channel) with fronts and rears bridged (behind the rear seat back[yes there's room])

Still to come: Capacitors, and a moderate sub to give me some nice solid low end out of the 5th channel of that 3500

Pictures may take some time, I'm still stuck in the 80's with my 35mm SLR
