Sony 10 disc Changer OEM Q45

Ok, there are lots of threads here about how the Sony 10 disc changer stinks. Well, I got one anyway. A buddy of mine went to the local pull a part where a new addition to the lot was a 1994 Q45 and the trunk hadn't been opened. He knew I needed an antenna and when he finally got the trunk open found:

Sony Model CDX-5N54GCD PLAYERNISSAN PART # 28184-68U00

It was OE to the car probably. He got the carpet surround and everything. We plugged it up to the factory harness and ding! The head unit no longer did anything it read "no DISC." Bad thing is there is not magazine. Does anyone have this CD player? Can you tell me what the Sony Model # for the magazine is?

I called Infiniti of Scottsdale and they could only tell me the Nissan part number of B8910-C9950. They also said it was no longer available. First time to hear that one.

While you're looking around....anyone got one that they're willing to part with to help a NICO brother out?

The factory sony 10 disc changer was garbage,replaced by a clarion 6 disc changer to swap out all the dead sonys.

I have 2 sony 10 disc cartridges, gave to a friend to list on E bay a few weeks ago-he has not listed them yet-if anyone is interested in buying them before they hit e bay, let me know {they both are in excellent condition,1 was purchased and barely used and still in sleeve,the other is the original}

i too was told the clarion 6 chngr. is no longer available. what now? ive had that sony aprt sooooo many times. after a few cycles, err. i actually dug deep, way deep into storage & found a few hundred cassettes. what a laf but some great oldies never the less.

It took a couple of trips back and forth, and once it was right it has been perfect.

If anyone's interested.....I've got a Pioneer aftermarket 6 disk player that I removed from my Q when I got Shane's Ipod adapter.
