Sonar sensor going crazy??

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Almost 80% of the time if I stop at the red light and am the first car, my front sonar sensor will go off crazy…

Dealer says there is nothing wrong with the sensor…

My guess is… both traffic light and car is using sonar sensors that bounce off each other and the car will fooled that it’s very close to an object?

Anyone got the similar problem? This is pissing me off because I need to turn it off and back on when I stop at a light

That seems to be normal. Heavy snow flakes that ends up sticking or

blocking the sensor triggers the sensor too. I guess that`s what the off

button is for.

You are not alone with this problem. My EX has had the same issue since it was new. It seems to occur only at a few select traffic lights. My dealer also said that they could find nothing wrong. I've just learned to live with it, turning the sensors off when it gets annoying.

I had same problem and some of us already discuss about this matter, we assume its embedded sensor under the ground and our parking sensor is sensing it, i had the same problem with 7 series, X5 i guess all of us is living with it.

That's what I figured too because it always happens the most at the same interesctions (even when it's not snowing).

LOL, just picked up a 08 with the sonar, and it went off when I was at a light this morning and first car. Crazy. Gotta love the off button.
