Sonar finally fixed

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I've had my 2008 EX for a year and a half, and I think the last outstanding problem has finally been fixed, after three trips to the dealer. I had the steering column issue, the bad fuel pump, and just now, the bad front sonar sensors. I know others on this forum have had this problem too. I kept my eye on the Infiniti TSBs and it finally showed up. The dealer replaced the sensors and my problem with them beeping at traffic lights is now history! What a great feeling! I can almost start liking the car now. Anyone else with the beeping sensors should head to the dealer now!

What does the TSB state?? I too have a rare occasional beep, but not a real issue.

I have the same problem, and interestingly enough the beep happens at only one specific stop light in my town ... all others are OK!! (???) I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow to get it fixed.

My detectors only beeped at specific traffic lights too. Unfortunately, I had to drive thru them every day, so it got real annoying when I had to stop at them. Having the dealer replace the sensors really fixed the problem. I had to make two trips though, since he had to special order the parts. Make sure he has them before you go. You can look at the sticky to see what the TSB said.

I have this problem too. I don't understand what causes it. Thanks for letting me know I'm not alone with this.

My sonar worked perfectly but when I discovered the off switch a few months ago, they have been blissfully silent ever since. Yes, I know I'm close to the side of the garage opening, yes, I know I'm near the curb, yes, I know there's a pedestrian walking in front of me in the crosswalk. I guess they would be useful if the driver were blind.

So does your sensor beep any time you are close to an object? Mine only does when the around view camera is on, usually just when I'm in reverse.

I use the Radar for when pulling into the Garage.

Too much Junk, so tightly packed in to a little space leaves barely enough room for our EX35 to squeeze in.

All-around Camera's and Sonar... are great to have.

Before I switched mine off, it beeped any time the car was close to an object, no matter what gear or whether rear-view camera was on (I don't have around view, just rear view). It would beep if I was stopped at a light and a pedestrian walked to close to the car. It would beep entering and exiting the garage. It would beep if I pulled up too close to a curb in a parking lot. It beeped a lot. Too much, if you ask me, but I believe that's the default. Perhaps your settings have been altered in the computer and can be reset by the dealer.

wow me too only at one specific light. The one getting out of my workplace. 5pm traffic is not enough....I need that 5pm beeping each day, LOL.
