somone please explain my altneator troubles.

on my rb20 i been having problems with my altneators i replaced it once before already.

the last altneator and now the replaccement one both do the same thing

they make a very loud annoying sound, the altneator pulley starts to smoke and get hott and smells like rubber. I checked the belt but there is never any rubber that's been burnt off the belt.

at first i spray wd40 on the pulley wheel to see if i could just stop the noise because I been trying to time my rb20 with a timing light but i can't work onit when i have a loud annoying sound killing my ears.

so i dont get what cause 2 altneators to do this and do the exact same thing?

its really starting to get me upsett because i can never work on the engine on what i have to work on and fix becasue my altneators keep crapping on me. ughhh..

anybody know?

the belt on the alt has not been replaced yet.

From the sounds of it it sounds like you have the alternator belt on way too tight. For both to do the exact same thing like that, I cant think of anything else it could be.
