like the title says, sometimes my idle gets funny, and wont rev past 2500rpm. when this happens if i unplug/replug my maf it fixes itsself.

would you say this is a bad MAF, or shotty wiring job on my part?

thanks for any help guys.

Does the ECU throw a code when this happens? Have you tried to clean the MAF? Sometimes if you use an cloth/oil filter like a K&N, the hot-wire gets caked with oil and dirt to the point that it can't clean itself anymore and then goes funky. Not sure if this is your issue or not but it's worth a look.

im using a super apexi cone-ish filter (with the silver center cap thats kind of convex shaped)... ill try cleaning it. thanks for the advice kjlindgr.

can anyone rule a wire issue if this is happening?? it does work sometimes, so im thinking it cant be wiring. can anyone confirm??

I'm assuming you had to lengthen your wires to get the plug to reach over there. How did you do this? Did you solder and shrink wrap or at least e-tape it? If you did the strip-n-twist method, you most definitely could have some electrical issues.

i did the solder and shrink wrap although i reopened the shrink wrap to check the wiring and instead of re-shrinkwrapping i e-taped. i did not use shielded wire though.

Funny I have this exact same problem... I would honestly recheck wiring.... This is what I will be doing when I have time..
