::shrug:: Might just be my opinion, but i wouldnt expect "par level work" for 850...to me that would assume less than average quality....for 850, i'd expect my motor put in my car...i wouldnt expect it to even be running correct when i got it, just everything bolted together...even just somewhat

I've said that forever, and i hate to bash a business or a sponsor, and i am not trying to do that or imply that...but I mean people have to do some comparing on the market...i mean we know that anyone can call Mckinney, and get a rate...then they come to the boards saying "thats rediculous! I can get a swap at 'XXplace' for 1/3 of that!!!!"....and i have ALWAYS said...look at what you get from mckinney, and look at what you get at 'XXplace'...then people always trying to save a buck. I mean I know a lot of people doing these swaps are teenagers or college kids...but any respectable person who is looking for quality and has a decent income will always say 'im more willing to pay for good work, then have a discount price and get not the same quality'...im always weary of low prices, or lower than market value...

I am one that would pay 3x's for someone like mckinney to do work on my car, than have a new shop, with owners w/out the same experience, and mechanics w/out the knowledge and years in the business and motor.

I do feel for your friend...and everyone learns from their mistakes, and i cant knock someone for that, but this always seems to be what happens, and im sure you've heard this before, but you pay less to get something done...then u end up paying more fixing the mistakes than u would have to do it right the first time.

I'm sorry your friend got screwed, but i cant put full blame on the shop.

I'd help, but i dont know much about the RB s' :(

i payed a lot to have my Sr installed...a lot more than a lot of people...but i got it done by someone i really trusted, wasnt overcharging me, and someone i can bring the car back to whenever i have any problem and they look at it for free, and will correct the problem, only charging me for part if neccesary..i didnt expect a deal, and payed him for all the hours he put into it, but piece of mind was worth the money to me :)

I thought it was super cheap because it was their first CA install and they needed to learn it as they went?

I'm not sure about this, so don't take it as a fact yet. I shouldn't have even said it before I was sure.

I am not a huge fan of these kind of threads regardless how much offlinbe dram has happened.

I think everyone has been able to say something and I am locking it now.
