something wrong with my ODO..?

hey guys i had a problem with me speedo/hud and now it's fixed cause i replaced the stupid little capacitor but after doing so my odometer and the trip odo doesnt work for some damn reason anyone in the know of what might be happening? also my speedo shows 6-7mph when the car is just idling and not in motion and then when i put in drive and start moving its perfectly fine... i dont know what's going on at all... any help would seriously be appreciated

I don't think the ODO goes bad, it's driven/powered through the speedo module. Your speedo mod is probably still bad (some other capacitor in there?). Or maybe you just didn't plug the odo cable back?

Anyway, I guess you can check to make sure all the gears are not broken on the ODO by taking it out, but that probably isn't it.

You may have to get a new speedo module, like from http://www.kaido-sports.com, or off a junked car.

The 6-8mph is also another indication of bad speedo module. Mine started doing that just before it pooped out (again). It's basically detecting your rpms and doesn't know you are in Park instead of Drive.
