Why in the world did you do that? There is a reason nobody has sceen that before.

Your pictures are super tiny btw. I would like to see the actual part you fabricated just for fun.

worst. idea. ever.

why would you convert from a proper (while somewhat dated) DIS system with a super high resolution trigger wheel to a HEI dizzy.

I love the critisism, but what are some questions you have and what do you think the advantages and disadvantages are

absolutely no advantages...stock trigger in the cas is supported by ungodly numbers of ecus.
if the stock coils dont cut it then LSx coils do the job just fine.

besides the added bulk and strain on the camshaft...i see no benefits at all only disadvantages.

It's very unconventional. That's one thing for sure. I am sure you are more comfortable with the distributor and maybe you can fill in why you chose it.

The only disadvantage I would see would be you lose digital ignition control which uses other sensors as a feedback of when to ignite, as well as a fail safe retard timing when the engine begins to knock. If we could process things as fast as the PCM/ECU the engine would look like it's hardly moving at all (but to our human eyes it's reving 6k rpm). With that it's a very powerful tool to let it control ignition timing in order to make sure your engine is safer from that random poor quality fuel tank, lets you run lower octane and even run higher compression ratio due to being safeguarded.

But above isn't necessary if you aren't demanding higher HP figures or high rpms.

Please enlighten us.

No offense but with newer stand alone management out there rocking 32 bit with every option under the son for less than that its really hard to argue. I run a 16bit 300zx ecu with nistune and have everything i need for a fraction of the price. The z ecu has been hacked every which way and is practically plug and play. A for effort but seems like you are beating a dead horse. All of the big boy domestic guys switch to a dis setup for real horse power as well. I have tons of friends that compete with big boy domestics and all of them run dis. Be weary of products you do produce and make sure there is a demand before wasting the r&d time.

You have the space, you could use a magneto and only have plug wires.
