I have noticed that the car has lost pressure. When I accelerate and take my foot off, the car keeps going and doesn't drop speed like it used to. And it does not pick up speed like it used to. Is there a damaged hose or something that is causing this? What should i check?

i have no idea but i would check vacuum lines if one is loose or broken, maybe the accelerator cable is sticky? do your rpm's stay the same when you take your foot of the gas?

can it be the pcv valve by any chance? I read some article about a bad pcv valve and it kind of fits whats happening with my car.

The PCV valve is perhaps the oldest emissions control component to be installed on production cars and light trucks. The PCV routes partially burned gases (called "cylinder blowby gases") from the crankcase back into the air induction system, where they're reburned in the combustion chamber.

Over time, oil and gasoline build up as sludge inside the PCV valve assembly, plugging up the valve and increasing crankcase pressure. A worn PCV valve or breather element causes heavy engine sludging, poor engine performance and stalling. Symptoms of PCV valve deterioration include:

Excessive oil consumption and leakage. The increased crankcase pressure forces oil through seals and gaskets.

Air filter contamination. The increased crankcase pressure forces PCV vapors through the breather element, depositing oil and hydrocarbon particles on the air filter itself.

Poor idle quality and hesitation. A sticking PCV valve does not fully close, allowing "false air" into the combustion chamber that dilutes the air/fuel mixture.

Most manufacturers recommend replacing the PCV valve every 30,000 miles. However, check for signs of a plugged or sticking valve when you're inspecting the air filter and engine compartment.

might be...but i've always torn out the hoses from the pcv and put on breathers - pretty little k&n - like filters.

Based on the description of the symptoms it must be the pcv valve. I want to order it online... do you know what is a good brand.

i don't think there's a big diference in "performance" between those. personaly i go through o'reilly ( formerly bumper 2 bumper here ). might want to check out a local parts store because even if you save online on the price you'll pay extra for shipping.

just looked up the price at o'reilly...$3.69 - don't buy online, you'll just have to wait about a week to get it, and pay a few extra bucks for shippng.

"Poor idle quality and hesitation" this says it all. when i put the car on drive and hit the brake the rpm stays under 600 and it shakes.

replace the pcv and hope that the symptoms go away, otherwise you might have some more serious issues. let know how it goes.

I changed the pcv valve and that did not seem to solve the problem. I will try and check the hoses if I have time this week.

i just looked at your mods and saw that you have a warpspeed y-pipe. i've read some guys had issues similar to yours with aftermarket exhaust mods...could be the problem? have you ever cleaned your IACV?http://www.nicoclub.com/articles.php?id=157925
