I already looked into it, the CA ecu does not support Nissan consult, they started using it with sr's.

i seem to remember something about using the consult with CAs?the CA ECU has wires that go to the dash harness for the consult.

(not calling you a liar or anything, just curious ) where did you find that said CAs dont use teh consult?

I was trying to find somthing that would read timing on a CA ecu and was going to buy that. Did some research and found out it won't work. Notice theres no consult directions in the CA fsm, compared to all the SR and KA. From what I remember the diagnostic wires are for an older nissan diagnotic tool.

the CA does not support consult, it has a diagnostics plug, but its pretty much just useful for pulling engine codes, thats it.

now if you convert to a SR20det computer, then you have consult support, hehe.

too bad you can't monitor knock & timing with cheap dataloggers like the DSMs. Maybe some smart cat could figure it out if there was a market. We already have an ez to chip and tune friendly ecu, along with the z32 afm. Then we could tune with a safc and fly like they do.Can you view all this when tuning a ca ecu eprom on the fly ?Does the sr ecu have an inexpensive datalog option like the dsm ?

Can't remember if Jez made big power from the ca18 with a ca or sr ca ecu.

I guess if you really wanted to, a DSM CAS could be adapted to the ca18, use mitsu sensors and get it to run. Probably wont get optimum knock/timing.There is a 2.4 ka making good power on kat.org doing exactly that tho.

I wonder how different the ca cas is from the dsm ? It is a mitsu sensor after all, no ?

your cas is already made by mitsu, and there are tons of programs out there for reading consult info, that one on ebay is a rip off. also techtom makes little handheld readers.
