As i went through my day as i normally do, swathes of blue were everywhere. An O simple seemed to be prevalent on an extraordinary amount of cars. Half of everyone i saw had some sort of Obama t-shirt on. Children were on the street corners with signs saying ' Honk For Obama ', and i was hearing a constant report from passing cars. Obama supporters were lined up comming from the train station. Something today was indeed.. Special.
Driving home on from my friends place, 66 east traffic was just simply awful. I went to my normal exit and it was packed, so i figured i would go to a secondary exit. Traffic was exceptionally bad there as well. I just.. Couldnt figure it out. Went down the road thinking about what an amazing yet strange day it had been, it just felt as if the burdens of life had been lifted by some unknown cause. Then i hit traffic, again, where there never is traffic. Cars from many states made up this line. Strange day indeed.
As i got closer, i saw a bright glow in the night sky. It was as if heaven itself had landed in my quite little town and was radiating upwardly as a beacon of hope. Two helicopters flew around this halo. Then it hit me. It could only be one thing. The One himself was gracing my town with his presence.
Traffic was backed up for miles in every direction. As i drove down my street gawking at the automobiles lined in every direction converging on our humble fairgrounds.
I caught a glimpse of movement to my right while i was on my bike, and to my surprise here too were lines of people. Lines of people as far as the eye could see braving the elements, they too hoping to catch a glimpse of 'The One'. To hear his voice and know that it is he who is destined to lead. He whom they will proudly cast their vote for tomorrow. He who will fix their problems. He whos name is synonymous with Hope.
I just had to share my glorious day with you all. I hope that it had in some way touched you, on some level. Maybe you too will one day be blessed as i have, i sincerely hope that you will.

Children... Funny you mention the kids. The schools did mock polls from 10-12 different grade schools here in town and the rsults were staggering. 95% vs. 5% Obama of course! Good Luck Obama480sx wrote:Children were on the street corners with signs saying ' Honk For Obama ', and i was hearing a constant report from passing cars. And McCain is selling:SmithSR wrote:I can understand the pull:
He's selling hopes and dreams.
Problem is, he's a politician.
No he's not. He's talking reform and less spending. Where do you think he has been positioning Palin these last months? Under his desk?HashiriyaS14 wrote:-The idea that you can spend the same while taxing less
Hm....that doesn't sound like a bad idea, actually.audtatious wrote:Where do you think he has been positioning Palin these last months? Under his desk?
And every Democratic Presidential con-idate has promised giving money back to the middle class. So far the GOP are the only ones to write me a check...HashiriyaS14 wrote:Anyway, every GOP Presidential candidate for the last two decades has promised lower spending and never once delivered. Woppie i highly doubt has done anything. Rev Wright, maybe a few. But Oprah appeals to masses of woman, color or income do not matter.SmithSR wrote:Oprah and Whoopie and a certain Rev. Wright brought race 'into this' ... don't be fooled.

Last I checked, people still work hard, men AND women.SmithSR wrote:-1950's? Nobody can take this country back to the glory days after the second world war when men worked hard and family values meant something. What a shame.
Oh I caught it, I just didn't believe it. Every recent GOP candidate has campaigned on lower spending and not one has delivered.SmithSR wrote:WHOOPS you missed McCain's spending freeze sales pitch.
Hang on. Wasn't it YOUR campaign manager who said this:SmithSR wrote:Issues aren't important to the left anyways.
