I get bored and read through a bunch of posts including old ones and it seems a few people actually disliked or flat out hated their Versa before they modded it. So... why would you spend all that money on a car that didn't appeal to you? What if this car never had an aftermarket for it? You would just keep driving around something you hate? Maybe it's just me but the car would have to appeal to me right off the lot before I thought of throwing even more money at it to make it stand out even more.

It happens with everyone and every car you choose. Is not that people don't like the car, is that some people just like to be unique. At least that's my point of view.

Most of the members of this forum are people who like cars and "playing" with them, mods doesn't mean they don't like the car... I would love to have an electric blue Versa with black rims, maybe bodykit, but it's not because I hate my silver Versa, is because I like to be unique (unfortunately we don't have the blue 2009 Tiida, so I had to buy the silver one, but as I mentioned, I still love my car)...

Some of us bought the car because it was reliable or was a good deal, more bang for your buck. Others wanted something else, but couldn't afford it and purchased something that is similar to what they originally intended to get. There are other people such as Fit owners who do the same thing with their rides, mod them to their unique tastes that reflect their personality similar to V owners.

Over time, you get tired of the same appearance to the vehicle so you modify it. No matter how much the car's value is or the amount paid, you'll end up modifying it when you didn't plan on doing it in the past.

I understand the whole thing about after time, you wanna do a few things to it. Guilty right here. But I mean the people who have their car for not even a day and decide they don't like the car so already they empty their bank account to try to turn it into something else. I'm just saying that maybe these people should have looked at a different car if they lost interest in it THAT fast. I didn't wanna touch my Versa for a couple months. Even just the radio. I didn't wanna mess with the "newness" if you know what I mean.

I'm just like you with the "newness" thing, I only have 2 stickers on it (plus the license/insurance stickers), but for now I don't wannna touch anything else... I guess I'm scared of breaking something when doing mods...

But some people like to do their mods right after getting the car, as I mentioned, to be unique or add a style that doesn't come stock... And as Mile High Versa said, the price is a huge factor here, you can buy a $15000 Versa, or you can buy a $25000 "sportier" car (huge difference)...

Tinted the windows on the 2nd day. This thing feels like an aquarium without it. Lowered it about a month after that because the damn thing rides so high, it just felt unsafe. I had a 100% stock Kia for 7 years, never felt the need to change a thing. Both of the mods on the Versa I felt were out of necessity. Of course, the 17's were just to make it shiny.

I loved the Versa from the start for its safety, just thought it could use a few improvemnts.

I recently I traded my 2007 s sedan for an 2009 versa sedan sl. Loved the car when I first it in the lot and still do. Overall, I say Nissans are very good dependable cars for your money and maintained properly. Happy Driving Everyone!

I wasn't talking about a supercharger and missiles that come out the sides. Mods can include tinted windows, a better radio, or other non performance enhancing parts.

Certain Nissans can be modded, but as we all know the aftermarket for the Versa is still relatively small still, I would hardly call it a modders candybar. Yet here we have grown men lowering and slapping on rims. Tinting windows and putting on a CAI all day long. Really, a CAI for 3HP? I'll be sure to go to the Kia forum and tell them to cease and desist all mods, explain to them that their cars are made only to drive, not to personalize, and that they need to remove anything that makes them individual.

P.S. If you took out the word Kia and replaced with Versa, you sound EXACTLY like Red Devil

I have probably posted that 5 times already as I do not really understand the cost/performance ratio. ... and people cannot even see it. At least with wheels there is something to look at.

You don't have to spend $25,000 to get a sportier car... Tiburon, Scion tC, Eclipse, etc. They aren't much for performance (except the V6 models) but they have a low profile. My Versa is almost as tall as I am. It's wierd.

While I do understand what your saying, it's not like the Versa is a 250hp car to start with. I always think it's funny when people bring up cost/preformance ratio. Would you be unhappy if you gained 30hp off an intake with a 250hp car?

Because when you really look at it that is what your getting with the Versa. You have a car that's about 112 hp and you add an intake that adds roughly 5-6 hp. That's a decent increase in my book.

Not me, 100% stock for 7 years. I found everything that was included in the car to be well designed and therefore no adjustments were necessary.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not trying to promote Kias on Nissan's site. I feel the Versa is a much better vehicle, it just needed a few small refinements to become mine. As Shad0wXCalibur pointed out, the vehicle stands very tall stock. I honestly feel the height achieved by the Tanabe springs should be the stock height on the vehicle for safety and appearances sake. I think the visors should come stock. Due to some design flaw the car is noisy as hell with the windows a few inches down. All the way down at highway speeds is bad too, but visors wont work for that anyway.

These are just a few things, "mods" if you will, that I noticed before I bought the car. But hey, come to a forum, learn from people that have fixed those problems. Buy the car, buy the mods, implement them and voila. Now an iffy car is one you would dive headfirst to save from a shopping cart.
