hey guys, just wanted to ask your opinion about somthing.ok, so this is my situation:I got my car('89 hatch) back from my mechanic two days ago(just did clutch swap) and I drove it for about a mile going home.yesterday, I tried stating it and it didn't start. There's a clicking sound but nothing else. I looked under the hood to check and saw that the batterries negative tip had some molten stuff on it, looked on the hood and saw burn marks on the area that would usually be on tp of the negative side of the battery...so I'm guessing I shorted something...or worse, fried my computer.

can someone tell me what kind of damage i'm lookin' at. ThanksArch:confused:

The clicking sound is 100% your starter.Sometimes, if you tap the starter housing with a hammer or something, it will start, but eventually it will just die. I suggest getting it repaired ASAP. I had the exact same problem in my 92 240sx. Let me guess, when you turn the key, your dash lights still glow? That means your battery is still fine. Therefore, it's the starter :)
