Which wire off the MAF is 5v?

on the 97, fsm shows mafs pin 3 [r/g] is battery source thru ecm relay.pins 1 and 2 look to be differential voltage to/from the ecm.

on the 94, pin 3 [black/white tracer] is battery power.

the other two are signal. [im assuming one is inverted to cancel noise]

OK, so the B/W is 12v.

Now which one is 5v and which one is ground?

on ef ec 85, there are only 3 wires.

ill look to see if theres a better diagram.

I can't find my dang FSM.... Grrrr.

Remaining wires are black or white.... Don't want to assume wrong on which one is ground and which one is 5v.

Actually, it's for a friend locally who's not real net-savvy... An old guy in my neighborhood who has a Q.

sorry, i went through the manual, and nowhere does it specify the signal on ecu 26 and 27 [maf signal] or the output of the maf.

just that it gets battery power, and the two signal lines are shielded.

well, all i can get is at idle, the voltage between ground and pin 1 on the maf should be 1.0 - 1.4v when fully warm, and 0.2v with the motor not running.

so that means pin 1 [white] is positive voltage.

That means the white one is the signal.

yup. i was flipping through it, and notcied on one of the pages, it said diagnosis of maf on page 217.

white is the signal.

there was no reference to it in the table of contents, i just stumbled on it.

LOL - Frustrating, that FSM...

Some things are laid out so clearly, a preschooler could figure it out.

Some stuff is so obscure or poorly documented, a whole forum of Q experts has a tough time with it.
