I have been corresponding with John and he says that the plates arent going ot be made again with him... So heres what im willing to do.

Im getting reasonably crafty at PTC Pro/Engineer, and id be willing to draw the plate out in the CAD program and let people have the drawings....

All I need to do is borrow one for a litlte while and ill give it back.

Off-topic a bit.I know everyone is getting these plates to mount a z32 MT. But there's a totalled 2005 Honda S2000 at a salvage yard, and I'm thinking of ripping that 6-speed out. Any idea how difficult it would be to mount to the VH?

It would likely be the same as doing the Z32 transmission depending on the starter. If the starter is mounted next to the block that might make it a bit more difficult.

Any particular reason you want to go with that transmission? Just for the 6 speed? Reason I ask is the TT transmission is proven to be very strong, it has wider gearing which if you go boosted will make for a much faster setup but with the VH's broad torque band will likely be quicker anyways, and finally the 6th gear of the S2K transmission is a higher ratio than the 5th of the TT transmission (just like the 350Z 6-speed). Your cruising rpm's will be higher in 6th gear than in 5th with the TT transmission so you'll likely lose a good deal of fuel economy.

I'd venture to guess that the S2K 6-speed likely won't take the abuse of the VH for too long, especially if modified a bit.

If you absolutely want to have a 6-speed, the T56 out of a Cobra would likely be the best. They are also in Camaro's/Firebird's and Corvette's but the 6th gear is .50:1 which is a very, very low ratio. The VH might be able to handle it but the Cobra T56 has around a .68:1 ratio, which would work out a little better.

On top of better gearing, they are very strong and there are many companies out there that can build them up even stronger. Lastly, they have a removable bell housing, which would make for a slightly easier setup.

Yea, I was thinking the higher torque and horsepower numbers would thrash the transmission. But if you've experienced that shifter, it is heaven.

I still have no interest in buying my plate. All I need is $275us and you pay John the remaining balance of 271.45 pounds.

I have to rebuild my motor still so if you want to pay shipping both ways I might be willing to provide mine just for the good of the community. but I'd need in back in a few weeks at the latest.Plus I need to make sure the starter will work so that you would be getting plans for the right thing (canadian said his didn't fit without modifiying).

oh and I'd stay away from the s2000 transmission I've heard their drivetrains are pretty fragile and if it broke it might prove difficult to find a cheap replacement.

dunno I am hoping to have the engine done by new years so I would need it back by then at the latest, so if having it over the holidays is a problem then sorry cna't help.. on a schedule and have things that need to get done... I was thinking like if I could get it shipped there and you could ship it back with a few days turnaround I can do it, but if youre gonna need to have it for more than a few days I really can't do it right now on account of I need it to build my motor mounts and driveshaft and modify the shifter linkage...

How long would it take you to do it? Just overnight it, it's only December 2nd.

I can send mine to you. I should be receiving it pretty soon but I'm a lazy *** so it would probably be a while before I got it in anyways. I need to clean out my garage first anyways and that'll take a while in itself.

If you just want to email/pm the address you want it sent to I'll send it that way when I get it.

the 14th or 15th... Might be better if we waited until break is over.
