So, I get into my car to leave work today, and start it up. Suddenly I think "Wow, when did you get so mean-sounding?" I drive an '05 Sentra 1.8s, by the way. Takes me all of two seconds to realize something ain't right. Sounds like a racecar. So I shut her off. Pop the hood. Intake's fine. Headers look good. Follow out the exhaust system. Oh f***.
Yeah, I'm missing 2 feet of exhaust. I think "Could it have popped off on the way in?""No, I would have heard it.""Is that s*** cut?""Yes. Goddamn it."
Sure enough, some son-of-a-b**** stole my catalytic converter. f*** me. Now what? I've filed a police report and my work was kind enough to let me have a company car for the next couple of days. Do I take the opportunity to rebuild my exhaust to something aftermarket? On a stock 1.8s Sentra? I think not. I've got my '77 280z for things like that, and I don't want to take away from that project.
Right now I'm thinking of calling my insurance in the morning (Since it's a holiday and the office was closed today). I'll get it towed to an exhaust shop and have a stock repair done. I'm not excited about this, and am not looking forward to my $500 deductible, what with going to the Colts/Jets game this weekend, and the said project above, when this will hit my suspension/brake rebuild budget hard.
Make me feel better about this!
